Proyecto AMBIODUCTO

Decision support tools for minimising pipeline leaks and their environmental impacts through spatial simulation of risk and the prioritisation of monitoring and maintenance activities


Proyecto AMBIODUCTO is an environmental research project which has been carried out since 2001 in the westerm Amazon of Ecuador (the 'oriente') seeks to better understand the past, present and potential future impacts of the commercialisation of the regions oil reserves on communities, environment and biodiversity diversity in and around the Globally important YASUNI National Park (also a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve). The project has supported a series of PhD projects and a significant data collection, experimental and computer simulation effort.
